Accumulated Trust

Trust is a public, non-transferable and observable metric. Each entity of the system (Vigía, Experto, Aliado, Observer, Creator, Corporate Partner, Government Agency, Press Contact) accumulates trust through verified contribution and loses it through sustained inactivity or documented breach.

Trust cannot be bought or transferred. A new entity begins with a baseline trust and increases it exclusively through its own participation. An entity that absents itself from the system for prolonged periods sees its trust decrease in accordance with the operational table published in the Trust Score annex.

Trust is observable: any person may consult the score of any public entity of the system. This visibility is the condition of civic self-scrutiny.

The calculation of trust is assisted by Agent 06 of Saphi Intelligence in accordance with Article X. The calculation methodology is published in its entirety and remains subject to external audit.

Commentary

Accumulated trust replaces, within the system, the logic of digital reputation quantified by interactions (likes, followers, virality). In Alerta, trust is earned by verified contribution to the common good rather than by the capacity to mobilize attention.

The metric is deliberately slow. A Vigía who documents five rigorous observations during a month accumulates less trust than a Vigía who documents two observations per month during two years. Consistency wins over intensity.

Decay by inactivity is equally deliberate. Trust is a living commitment rather than a permanent trophy. An entity that withdraws from the system gradually loses the voice the system had granted it.

Components of the calculation

The trust score composes several factors:

  • Volume of verified contribution during a rolling period.
  • Quality of contribution, measured by the validation rate by Expertos and by the incidence of subsequent corrections.
  • Temporal consistency, rewarding sustained participation over concentrated activity.
  • Territorial diversity, in the case of Vigías, rewarding the coverage of zones with low observation density.
  • Reception of counter-observations, in accordance with Article XI, where a valid counter-observation reduces the score of the original record without penalizing the Vigía who documented in good faith.

The complete formula, its weights and its thresholds are published in the corresponding technical annex.
