Chapter IV · Who composes Alerta

The Alerta ecosystem is composed of eight institutional roles. Each one has a distinct onboarding process, a dedicated work screen and clearly defined reciprocal obligations within the system.

The eight roles

Vigía. A verified person who documents field observations. It is the central role of the system. Accesses vigia.alerta.earth upon completing the training process. Accumulates trust and receives seeds through validated observations.

Experto. A professional or researcher accredited in a relevant field (urbanism, environment, law, public health, engineering, journalism). Validates the technically complex observations. Their credential is verified before incorporation.

Aliado. A business, workshop, café, bookstore, cultural institution or local organization that accepts seeds in exchange for goods and services. Constitutes the redemption point that sustains the value floor of the seed.

Observer. A person without verification whose submission passes through public moderation. It is the entry role into the system. After a sequence of validated submissions, the Observer is invited to begin the training process as a Vigía.

Creator. A journalist, photographer, illustrator or content producer who documents stories derived from the work of Vigías and Expertos. Their work is published on dedicated editorial surfaces.

Corporate Partner. A company with institutional interest in the operation of Alerta. Its agreement is registered in accordance with Article XII.

Government Agency. A State institution that receives validated observations and responds within the committed timeframes. Its participation is formalized in a public agreement.

Press Contact. A journalist or accredited medium that receives editorial alerts about observations of public interest. The accreditation is revocable.

The master review

The eight figures concur in the master review system of entities operated from admin.alerta.earth. The master review documents the state of each entity, its accumulated trust and its participation history. Access to the master review is restricted to the editorial team and the chambers in accordance with Article IV.
